A lot has happened over the weekend, and I have three cool things to share.
One of my favorite SEO folks is Jerry West. He’s so creative and smart, and I love to read his blog. If you’re not a subscriber and are interested in SEO, it’s a MUST, right?
Today, Jerry Made a post about the impact of the Google Super Bowl ad, and the technique is so simple, it will knock your socks off. Go here to check it out: http://blog.seorevolution.com/2010/02/08/emotional-ads-always-win/
Next, have you been watching Andy Jenkins’ Video Boss videos? Aw come on, people! If you haven’t, you’re brain dead. LOL.
Seriously, Andy is a genius with video. No wonder, he’s a pro that worked on TV and film in a former life and won awards for it. So, he’s back to show us how to use video in our marketing, and let me tell you… these videos aren’t salesy. We’re not even sure what his offer is yet, but let me tell you… if this is the free stuff? Imagine. continue reading »
Cryptic? Just a bit, but if you’re in the Internet marketing space, you probably already know that StomperNet is about to reopen on 9.09.09 at a really affordable lower price with a whole BUNCH of new tools and information. You need to get over there and get in on the launch information list now because historically, Stomper opens its doors for a short while, and then BAM! They’re closed again and you’re on the outside looking in.
I’ve been part of StomperNet since it opened its doors back in 2006 (thanks to Tellman), and I can tell you that the site has been a definite part of my knowledge base and ensuing success in the SEO/Internet marketing world. I’ve learned more than I can say, and continue to learn more and more all the time. It’s a place I can go and know that I’ll be picking up cutting edge information every single time I visit.
Yes, there’s been controversy lately. And yes, sad to say that Andy Jenkins left Stomper (because I really love his energy, enthusiasm, and wicked sense of humor), but Brad Fallon and his team have come up with a newer, cleaner “Stomper999″” that I’m really excited to see in action. I got the whole lowdown, but…
I can’t spill the beans, but if you’re the least bit interested in getting a solid SEO education or rather a solid education in Internet marketing and SEO, and you’re not a complete newbie (I don’t know, but I don’t think Stomper is for the total newbie. Just going on past impressions from my experience in Stomper), then you definitely need to check this launch out.
It’s going to be killer! I’m excited and I’m already in. Wicked cool…

So… Have you had your site evaluated yet?
I entered the info for one of my pages, and now, I don’t remember which one. It was a few days ago, but…
Nothing from Site Seer yet.
I’ll bet they had thousands of entries, so I’m being totally patient. It’s been days, but well… they said don’t submit again. Hmm… After a few days, it seems as though I should.
I don’t have a spam blocker, so that’s not the problem.
Anyway, I’m thoroughly interested in that report. Aren’t you? I mean, if you can put your page into a system like that and it comes back and tells you what’s wrong. Jeez… You might never figure it out on your own, right?
Of course, I’m a Stomper, so I know mine will come back clean. Yeah, right… LOL I do my clients’ SEO work way better and more thoroughly than my own. I need a clone. Definitely need a clone. So, here’s the best deal of all… I get Site Seer to do the work for me and I just go and fix it, right?
I’m so bad.
Need time! Any time merchants out there?
Anyway, if you don’t know what Site Seer is and how it can benefit you, you need to check it out:

Zero cost. Stomper has set the precedent for raising the free line. They did it when Stomper opened and though tons of other marketers have learned to do this, too, I remember who started it.
Brad and Andy.
Good on them.
The premise is: If the free stuff is THIS good, what’s the paid stuff like? Must be incredible!
And inside StomperNet it is.
It’s like SEO and Internet marketing University. Truly. I’ve been involved since Day 1 and can honestly say…
Wow.
Just wow.
Being inside StomperNet generally blows one’s mind. I love it. They’re about to open the doors again. Come on in and be amazed.
OK… where’s my affiliate link, Andy?
See? I really do have nothing to gain. I just really love being a Stomper.
I’m getting to be a real whiz with Camtasia. I guess when you make enough videos, that happens. Well, if you go through Camtasia’s course, which I plan to do someday, you know all this stuff up front. But I’m the kind of chick who likes to learn by doing, you know. I just jump right in and only look for help when I want to do something that I think is cool, but don’t know how to do. I’m terrible that way. I never read directions, either.
Anyway, today, I was making a pretty simple video, and I didn’t like the beginning. But… I thought. [see the little light bulb go on over Pat's head] Well… hmm… a PowerPoint could spice this up a bit.
But the trouble was: How the heck do I get the video and the PowerPoint to live together in one short film?
huh.
Well, when I thought about it, it was pretty simple actually.
- Record a video for both the PowerPoint and the screen capture. (I did the screen capture first, which was smart because then, I knew what I had to say when recording the PowerPoint. I left pauses where I wanted the video to kick in, you know? You can edit those out, which is pretty cool.)
- Then, on the storyline, put the PowerPoint in first, then split it where you want the video to come in.
- Plug in the screen capture video at that point
- You can split the video where you want the PowerPoint to come back. If it’s the end, that’s really easy because the end of the PowerPoint will still be there. But if you want PowerPoint and video to alternate, you can just continue splitting and alternating.
You may think it makes things jerky, and it probably will if you do it too much. Yet, Camtasia does a good job of making smooth transitions. You can always add transition screens to make it look even cooler, too.
This is probably soup simple for the video tech heads, but it’s an adventure for moi.
I’m really getting into this video creation stuff. It’s not just fun, it’s important! I really think it’s the way of the Web, folks. If you’re not at least exploring the possibilities of video, you’re behind the curve. I’m learning a lot working with Brian Edmondson, who’s doing some kick butt stuff for Overcome Everything, too. Brian is da video guy and he rocks.
But… I’ve also been watching Andy Jenkins’ videos about making videos over at StomperNet. Whoa.
Nothing like learning from a pro. I feel blessed. And thanks, Andy! You rock — out loud.
My site on blogging is all step-by-step video, so this is making it better all the time. Love it!
Have you seen Andy Jenkins’ new video yet? It’s called “Going Natural 2.0,” and I have to tell you… It’s the best freakin’ video I ever saw online re: Internet business. I mean, I know that Andy was a film editor and all, but he didn’t pull any stops. It’s interesting and fun, but here’s the killer part…
It’s LOADED with important SEO information.
Have I learned this stuff before? Well, yeah. I’m a Stomper. But it never hurts to get a little refresher, eh? Besides, Andy’s a trip. You never know what he’s going to put into a video, and so, I watch ‘em all. Really, the guy’s not only a smart SEO, he’s an entertainer.
You can check it out here: http://stomperblog.com/2007/12/05/going-natural/
It’s on the Stomper blog and it’s free content, so it’s OK to let that one out of the bag. I got the email because I signed up for information on StomperNet last year, but when I found out how much it cost, I knew I’d never afford it. Lucky for me that I work for someone who could and who thought it was pretty cool to put me into. I thank him a lot.
Seriously, even if you can’t afford StomperNet (or think you can’t), check out that video. It’s not a sales pitch from Brad (Fallon) & Andy. It’s just good, solid, valuable content. And that’s what StomperNet continues to provide. I’ve been in it since the first day and it still never ceases to amaze and delight me.
Is StomperNet worth going into debt for?
Hell, yes. Absolutely.
It’s the single most important experience of my online career, and I’m constantly amazed by the level, quality, and abundance of information there. I have trouble keeping up with all of it. Really.
Anyway, I have no reason to urge you into Stomper Net when they open it back up for members. I’m not an affiliate.
But I sure love it there, and believe me, it’s worth every single penny. It rocks the universe!
