Hey, I have a couple of list building sites you might want to check out. I’m guessing that you realize that list building is THE most important thing you can do for your business. Once you have a huge, whopping list, your problems are over– if you treat them well, of course.

But how do you get that list when you are brand new and needing a little boost?

Here’s one way: http://SpiderLanguage.com/viralsecret . It’s a cool new program from Russell Brunson that will help you to build a list virally. Me, Tellman, and Brian are all signed up. If you have a newsletter, you should sign up, too!

Another way to get more list is by using a safelist. My friend Jon Atwood and his partner Frank have opened a new one with a twist. It’s a little bit safelist and a little bit giveaway. Kind of a cool twist on both sides… Check it out here: http://easyseotricks.com/listeffects

Both of these tools are free and pretty cool. If you’re interested in making your list bigger or in creating more list with the power of a giveaway, you should check both of them out.

Marketing: Which Test Won?

4 February 2010

At Overcome Everything I work with some of the smartest people in the world of Internet marketing, and it’s an honor just to be part of that team.  Each of the members of the staff are brilliant in their own ways, but I have to say that Kyle Battis, our marketing and affiliate manager, isn’t just a great guy, he’s really, really smart about marketing and I learn from him every single day. You should check out his stuff: Easy Traffic Steps (with Tellman and Mike Purvis) and My First Teleseminar are two of his products, and both are awesome!

But I’m not writing this to sell you his products (though if you buy them, of course I get some dough).

I’m writing to tell you about this really cool list that Kyle turned me on to. If you’ve been around the IM beat a while, you have undoubtedly heard of Marketing Sherpa, right? It’s an awesome site, so if you haven’t been there and want to learn some really, really cool stuff… go to http://MarketingSherpa.com and check it out.

Anne Holland, one of the founders of Marketing Sherpa, created another cool site and the  list I mentioned above… continue reading »

Do You Know Shoemoney?

15 January 2010

For a long time now, I’ve been a fan of Jeremy Shoemaker. He’s a no-nonsense blogger and marketer and you KNOW what he thinks about this, that and the other thing… all the time.  And he’s a very smart marketer. He makes the Big bucks with his blog and his other ventures, and he really knows what’s what.

Right now, he’s in pre-launch for a new product called “The Shoemoney System,” and I know it’s going to be awesome. Interested in the buzz? Check it out  here: http://easyseotricks.com/shoemoney It’s not here yet, but you can watch Jeremy’s video in the meantime and sign up for all the news.

And you gotta help me! As of yesterday, I was one of the top 10 promoters for his affiliate contest, and I’m in some very good company:

Sweet, eh? I’m loving it. So, here’s what I’d love for you to do… Just go over to http://easyseotricks.com/shoemoney and opt in. You’ll be kept in the loop regarding the launch as it happens.

And to be honest, some of the big promoters haven’t even mailed out yet, so I doubt that I’ll stay in the running without YOUR help!

If you like the content I provide here every week… help a girl out, eh? :)

Remember November when everyone was worried about the FTC changes that took effect on December 1? WEll…

Just a few hours ago, new crackdowns came without warning. This time the issue involves Mastercard, and in a nutshell, FORCED continuity is dead. Apparently, from what I could glean from what Ryan Lee and Tim Kerber put out, people are pissed about paying for stuff they never bought. We all know that people don’t read. It can say in big, bold letters that they’re getting a trial membership in a site, but the ongoing payments will be $47 a month or whatever.  Then, when the bill comes, they say they never bought membership and that we online bad guys are ripping them off. continue reading »

Internet marketing magic happens when a sales pages or an optin page converts your reader to a list member or a sale. Watch this video to learn more:

Wondering how far the FTC wants to take its new standards? Apparently right to the bank. And perhaps the fact that the State of New York won a court battle over fake testimonials spurred them on.

Lifestyle Lift forced their employees to write glowing reviews of the procedure, as if they were paying and very satisfied customers. This was reported in the New York Times article: “Company Settles Case of Reviews It Faked” back in July. The lawsuit cost the company $300K in penalties.

So, how important is it that you pay close attention to the new FTC regulations? Very. Though LifeStyle Lift is probably a much larger corporation than most one-person shows online, you still can’t use bogus testimonials. Neither can you use testimonials that showcase specific results. For example, if someone bought your information product and gained 5,000 people on his or her list or another bought your weight-loss product and lost 40 pounds, you can’t be specific about their successes.

Danny is a hoot! Here’s his interpretation of an article I wrote for OE. Check it out. I love his videos! Hope you will, too:

Isn’t he great? He’s a total entertainer, and his videos always make me smile. He’s an awesome individual, to boot.

Can’t go wrong listening to my friend, Danny.

Hey everyone…

I’ve had kind of a rough day today, and I’m really tired. Not your problem, right? :) No, it’s not, and in my effort to produce solid content for you every day, I’m going to rely on something some good friends of mine wrote about their new product. Here’s the skinny:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We’ve all had bad days as marketers, but some are much worse than others. While bad luck happens and poor sales days aren’t uncommon, sometimes something much more sinister is at play. There are hackers and script-running marketers out there to steal your affiliate commissions, and it could be costing you thousands of dollars, every year. These unethical marketers operate through spyware and secret ad programs, which automatically convert affiliate links into their own, stealing your commissions and earning them cash.
It’s highly unethical, and it gives real marketers a bad name. While you put in the hard work creating landing pages, mastering PPC campaigns, and building dedicated SEO resources, these leeches are out there coding their bots, ready to steal your hard work and turn it into their own conversions. While affiliate networks fight against this sort of behavior, there’s little that they can do. After all, the traffic looks the same, and the sales are genuine. It’s just the method that’s horribly unethical.
Of course, there are two ways to deal with the problem. The first is to get mad about the situation and try to fight the leeches head on. You can report them, follow them, and tell other affiliates about them. While it certainly makes things more difficult for them, it’s not a solution that’s going to bring you any more sales. Hackers are sharp, and always looking for a new solution. When you call them out, they simply run away and build a better bot. continue reading »
So yeah… Saturday night was something that only an Internet marketer could dream about.
Really.
Matt Bacak had a birthday party for Mark Joyner and 120 people were invited. If your name wasn’t on the list, you were out, baby. I was both honored and delighted that my name was on that list. I know it was thanks to Tellman, but hey… I got to be there!
(If you really hate gushy stuff, now it’s time to stop reading. Thanks for coming. I can’t help it. I’m totally psyched!)
Think of any big-time marketer and he or she was probably there. Stephen Pierce showed up, just for the party. And the usual suspects were there. People who had already presented, people going to present on Sunday, and some friends of mine like Carrie Wilkerson (the Barefoot Executive) and Perry Lawrence (Ask Mr. Video) and folks I’ve come to know through Tellman like Ric Thompson (HealthyWealthynWise.com) and Harris Fellman. And other folks I didn’t recognize, but if they were at the party, I guarantee they were smart marketers. It was awesome! I never, ever, ever dreamed I’d be in a room with people I looked up to for so long. continue reading »
I really love going to conferences. Not only are they a great way to meet people face to face and to build relationships, but you learn a lot or at least get some great ideas while you’re there. I scripted a video that I’m going to use as a sales letter while I was there, and I’m thinking it should do pretty well. (Hoping, anyway.)
And I’ve been to different types of conferences: JVAlert (which I love because it’s like a family), StomperNet, Bill Harris and Brad Antin’s “How to Think Like a Marketer,” and Michael Penland’s Super Conference. All of them were great for different reasons.
But…
I have never been to a “Legends of Internet Marketing” type conference. I mean, usually there are a few big names but we’re talking every single presenter! And the other folks there were the rest of the IM world. It was a real concentration of Internet marketing POWER!
On Saturday morning Marshall Sylver presented, and I have to say I’ve never seen him in person. Wow! It was a real treat. For me, it wasn’t what he taught, it was how he presented. Smooth, baby. He rocked the house! And when it came time for people to go to the back of the room, at least a quarter of the people in the audience did just that. He was that good. I thought that Robert Allen was smooth, and he is, but Marshall is like ice on glass. continue reading »
