Super Start for Firefox Just Got Better

If you’re as busy as I am, I’m guessing you have a TON of bookmarks on your computer. ¬†And I’m also guessing that you’re always searching for the right ones or for some that you use every day. Stop wasting valuable seconds! They add up.Super Start - Firefox Add on

If you’re a Firefox girl like me (or boy, of course), you’ll love the add-on Super Start by cyberscorpio. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and it makes getting to my blog, my bank, my clients’ websites, Facebook, and all those places I visit every day really super simple.

What Super Start does is put a visualization of these websites on your desktop so that you can get to them with one click. I had like 8 rows by 8 rows going and well, even scrolling down to find the right bookmark takes time, eh?

So, guess what? Super Start just got better.

As of a week or so ago, you can now organize your thumbnails into groups. So, I have a me group, a them group, and a social media group to name only three of the groups I’ve been able to create with Super Start. And to do it is amazingly simple!

All you need to do is move one site in the group onto another site in the group you want to create. So, for example, I moved my thumbnail of Pinterest over my thumbnail of Facebook and voila! A group was created. Then, I was able to add other thumbnails as I liked in a ribbon that appears at the bottom of your screen. It’s awesome! Now, no scrolling.

The only drawback is that you can’t label the groups you create. So you have to kind of look at the little images and remember, but that’s easier than you might think. To me, it’s a non-issue.

One other feature that Super Start has is that you can open a “to-do list” section on your screen, too. Personally, I wanted more room for bookmarks and didn’t use it in the past. But now, the whole bookmark area seems to be contained so that no matter how many bookmarks you have, you can still use the to-do list function. If you like making lists and checking things off, this is awesome.

Anyway, there isn’t a Chrome extension to match Super Start for Firefox, unfortunately. I just looked because I’m writing on my Chromebook and wanted to show you how cool it was. So, it will have to wait until I get back home. No worries, the image you’re seeing above is Version 4 of Super Start. Try it out. Why not? It’s free!
