As you know, I’ve been working with mobile for the past couple of months quite heavily, and in that time, I’ve learned that you can get some really amazing results when it comes to getting optins. The rate is very high, which is great. I mean, we’re talking 700+ optins for only $50. That’s strong, right?

Well, it’s great, but only if the people on that list will buy.
And they don’t.
I’ve learned that people don’t buy because the payment pages they’re sent to are too big for their phones to see. So, I created a mobile website with MobiSiteGalore.com, which you can see at http://masterlistbuilding.mobi . I’m not going to link that up for you because it only looks right on a mobile phone.
The mini-site is great, has videos with great advice from the T-man and the 5-pages lead to a sales page. Also pretty cool, but too long. I need to trim it. However, having trouble with getting a payment button to work.
In comes Mr. Edward Moore again. He’s an amazing guy, and any time I mention I’m having issues with something he goes and finds information that I need and sends it to me. You wish you had friends like that, eh?
Well, Edward sent me information about PayPal mobile checkout, which allows you to create mobile payment buttons! How sweet is that?
Only problem is that you need a PayPal API and well… much of the language there is way over my head. So, I’m going to enlist the help of some tech guru friends and proceed from there.
I really want to solve this. It feels so close to a solution, and if I can get these folks to buy — it will be great. I mean, we have them in a killer follow-up series of messages, but when people are looking at your stuff on a phone, it ALL has to be mobile friendly — every bit of your system, and it’s just not.
Not yet.
But it will be. And listen, this is something you need to think about. I mean, if you’re just starting out, don’t worry about mobile now. However, if you have a viable business up and running, this is the way of the future. I couldn’t believe how many people were crowding our local Verizon Wireless store on New Year’s Eve! I had gone there because my smart phone got so dumb that it just wouldn’t work at all. Grrr… I got a replacement, though, so it wasn’t a total loss just a few days without my phone.
Anyway, keep you posted on the progress of this all. I’ve done some mobile for my own business, too. The optin rate is ridiculous and if we can make it pay… it will be amazing!
Oh, and I’m talking about selling our own products, not pay-per-call or CPA or whatever. That is supposedly the bomb. I haven’t done much with that, but selling our own stuff is much more crucial.
