Remember when we talked about Mobile Advertising last month? Well, Emarketer Daily has come out with a chart that shows some pretty interesting stats. InMobi, a mobile advertising network and comScore polled a number of smart phone users and asked their opinion on seeing ads on their mobiel devices. Here are the results:
As you can see, 38% of the 4,400 people polled are comfortable with seeing ads on their phones, while 25% said they're getting used to seeing them. That's more than half the people who have phones that can connect to the Internet or 63%!
Of course, 12% aren't. But think about it…
"The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) also said the number of mobile broadband subscriptions would exceed one billion this year after reaching 600 million in 2009," according to an article on PhysOrg.com.
Of course, not all cell phone users can connect to the Internet, but a report by David Luu, entitled "Handheld Device Convergence," claims that 1 billion people will be on smart phones by 2013. (Gaming Angels, Jan. 2010.)
A lot can change in a couple of years, but think about it. If those numbers ring true and 63% of the people using smart phones are OK with advertising, that's 630,000,000 people you can be marketing to that are interested in what you have to sell!
Isn't it time you figured things out?
