Image Map Editor
Man, I am sooo excited! I actually learned how to create one of those images that has different clickable spots! Yeah, like Bing. I’m coding like Bing now. Ha!
It’s called an image map, and not something I usually do because it’s so complicated, at least for me. But… I got the code from a tutorial online and tried that. Didn’t work the way I wanted it to. So, went back to Google, and voila! Found an image map creator:
http://www.maschek.hu/imagemap/imgmap
You tell the site where in the photo you want the links to appear, give them the URLs for those links, add ALT text and a target, and VOILA!
Image map.
Now, I’ll be able to it anytime I want to…
I don't use it in my business too much, but who knows. It was a great way to add an ascension ladder to the ListBuilding Club. I actually did this post for the OE blog in February, but since we deleted all the personal blogs for employees, I found this and wanted to let you in on it. If you visited that blog for movie reviews, you can now catch them at http://theMovieDiary.com . Those were a way for me to bond with OE customers on a personal level and the posts were getting some traffic.
So, I set up the new blog and then used the WP plugin "Redirection" to send folks to the new location of the material. Sweet?
The folks at OE just weren't posting to the blogs regularly, so Tellman decided to change it to a company blog with multiple postings. If you're interested to learn more about what I do or what any of the other folks do, like our COO, Jim Giller; our marketing and affiliate manager, Kyle Battis; our You Tube guy, Danny Frank, who's an awesome artist, BTW; one of our copywriters, Josh Burns; a smart and fun-to-read tech guy, Victor Grosser; or even Tellman himself, drop on by. We've been posting up a storm and having a great time.
I'm hoping to get enough cool stuff in there to have our feed picked up by Google News. I applied with this blog, but they told me that a blog needs multiple authors, like 37 signals blog or Mashable. No sweat! That will be awesome! But we're going to need consistent posting for a while, so that will be a consideration down the road.
Anyway, thought the image map creator was pretty cool, and that you might find a way to use it in your own business. It's sweet!
